At WHTC LA, we’re a cannabis dispensary that loves Los Angeles and the city’s Hollywood history. Whether you’re a local or in town for a visit, spend a day appreciating all the fun and noteworthy attractions our city has to offer.
The Kodak Theater
Start your journey at the Kodak Theater, home to the glamor of the Oscars, and walk down the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Then, take a tour of some of the most famous movie studios in the world like Universal Studios Hollywood, Warner Bros. Studios, and Paramount Pictures. See where your favorite movies and TV shows were filmed and get a behind-the-scenes look at how they are made.
Ripley’s Believe it Or Not Museum
While you’re in the area, stop by Ripley’s Believe it Or Not Museum and check out the wax figures of your favorite celebrities, see the 4D theater that features amazing holographic effects, or take a ride on the spine-tingling ghost train that brings visitors into the depths of a haunted coal mine. No matter what you’re looking for, there’s something fun here for everyone.
The Magic Castle
Hollywood is full of kitschy sights and attractions and that includes the Magic Castle, a private club for members of the Academy of Magical Arts that only allows members and their guests. The Magic Castle is home to some of the world’s best magicians, including past performers like Harry Houdini, and current performers like Penn & Teller. The club adheres to a strict dress code, so be sure to wear your best when you visit. If you’re looking for a little bit of magic on your Hollywood tour and you’re lucky enough to have an “in” at the Magic Castle, it’s a must-stop for anyone touring LA.
Hollywood & Highland
At the intersection of Hollywood and Highland sits one of the most iconic landmarks in Los Angeles, the Hollywood Sign. The 45-foot tall letters that make up the sign were originally erected in 1923 to advertise a new housing development, but have since become an internationally recognized symbol of the entertainment industry. While the sign is now protected as a historical monument, you can still get up close and personal with it on a Hollywood tour. Just be sure to stay on the marked trails and respect the area, as it is still an active construction site.
Runyon Canyon
At Runyon Canyon, you can hike to the top of one of Los Angeles’s tallest peaks for a panoramic view of the city. Access the trails at the north end of Runyon Canyon Park, off Fuller Avenue. The trails are well-maintained and perfect for a hike of any level, plus dogs are allowed on the trails, so be sure to bring your four-legged friends along for a mini-adventure on your Hollywood tour. Along the trails, you’ll see views of some of Hollywood’s most famous landmarks, including the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory. Runyon Canyon is a popular spot for celebrities, so keep your eyes peeled and you just might see one on your Hollywood tour.
Grauman’s Chinese Theater
No visit to Hollywood would be complete without a stop at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, one of the most famous movie theaters in the world. The theater is best known for its hand and footprints in the concrete outside, left by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars. You can also see the world’s largest IMAX screen inside the theater, which is over 100 feet wide. So whether you’re a movie fan or not, Grauman’s Chinese Theater is a must-see on any Hollywood tour.
