Studio City’s Favorite Recreational Cannabis Dispensary

A love and appreciation for cannabis is in our blood. WHTC Medicinal Cannabis Dispensary was founded in 2007 by a woman whose mother was battling breast cancer. Through that experience, she saw first-hand how cannabis can help a wide range of people, from medical patients to recreational users. It soon became her mission to help provide people in her community with the quality and consistency that she would provide to her own family members.

Because of this, the Studio City community has welcomed WHTC with open arms. In return, we will continue to serve people looking for the best quality weed in a vast array of forms like edibles, pre-rolls, tinctures, eighths and more. Shopping at our dispensary means experiencing friendly, knowledgeable service focused around getting you the best cannabis products to suit your needs.

We Love Studio City

WHTC is located in a very popular, safe and family-friendly area in Los Angeles. Studio City is a great tourist destination because of its many top quality restaurants and famous landmarks. Studio City got its name from a nearby film studio now owned by 20th Century Fox, but the city is rich in Hollywood history.

Studio City is home to many celebrities. Some of the most notable celebrities include comedian Jay Leno, director David Lynch, basketball player Magic Johnson and actress Eva Mendes. Also, Eddie Van Halen, famous for being the lead guitarist of rock band Van Halen, perfected his guitar skills while living in Studio City.

Studio City is known for a variety of historic landmarks that are worth the visit. Some of these landmarks are located on Ventura Blvd., which is the main road running throughout Studio city, while others are found close by. The two most famous landmarks are Warner Brothers Studios, which was established in 1923 and 20th Century Fox Studios, which was established in 1948. The studios are still used today by various companies to film popular TV shows and movies.

If you’re hungry, there are plenty of lively restaurants on Ventura Boulevard including several classic sushi houses, plus small-plates spots and stylish gastropubs. Locals hit Wilacre Park for woodsy hiking trails with panoramic valley views. You can always get a full city view at the Universal City Overlook. If you’re a history buff, check out the Campo de Cahuenga, an historic adobe ranch house that’s named one of the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Additional FAQ

We accept cash and card for payment at our Studio City Dispensary.

Adult residents of Studio City, California who are 21 and older and registered with the Medical Marijuana Program (MMP) can legally smoke and consume weed.

Whether you need to register with the MMP or not depends on if you are 18-20 years of age. If you are at least 18, use or possess up to 28.5 grams of marijuana for personal use without a physician’s recommendation (from California or out-of-state) is lawful per Proposition 64.

Yes. To verify their age, all customers at WHTC Dispensary are supposed to show a government-issued photo I.D., such as a driver’s license or passport. You must be of legal age (21 years old or older, or 18 years old with a medical marijuana recommendation) in order to buy and consume marijuana under Prop 64.

In general, customers can purchase up to an ounce of flower or eight grams of concentrates (in public, the legal limit is eight grams of concentrated cannabis or 80-320 milligrams of THC per package). It’s also possible to purchase one ounce in a day if you have an authorization. Customers with medical marijuana cards can buy up to eight ounces in a twenty-four hour period.

Those purchasing medical marijuana can also buy just about any type of product–edibles, oils, tinctures, topicals, concentrates, beverages and more. State-licensed stores are just now getting up and running. There’s a handful in the area that offer delivery services as well.

Some Studio City dispensaries even have deals for first time customers who are able to get their first purchase free (typically with a minimum order, but it’s possible to score some high-grade ganja for the same price as schwag if you act fast).

What is THC? THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is a cannabinoid compound found in the cannabis plant. It has a variety of uses including treatment for cancer and nausea, as well as its psychoactive effect, which creates the traditional ‘high’ associated with marijuana use.

What is CBD? Cannabidiol is another cannabinoid compound found in the cannabis plant. It helps treat seizures and other neurological disorders, but it may also be used to reduce pain, inflammation, and anxiety.

What are the differences between THC and CBD? Unlike THC, CBD does not have any psychoactive effects. This means that when you ingest or use CBD oil, you won’t feel any mind-altering changes. CBD also has a wide range of medical applications, but it is not psychoactive, so it will not create the traditional ‘high’ that THC users seek to attain.

Medical cannabis became legal in California with the passing of Proposition 215 (also known as The Compassionate Use Act) by voters on November 5, 1996. Cannabis remains illegal at the federal level and has been classified as a Schedule I drug since 1970. As of January 1, 2018, it is now legal in California for adults 21 years and older to use, possess, transport, purchase, and share up to one ounce of cannabis without a doctor’s recommendation.

The average price for 1/8th of good-quality marijuana sold at dispensaries in Studio City is around $50-$60. The range depends on what strain you are buying and if it is indica or sativa. California state law prohibits smoking of cannabis in public places. You are permitted to smoke cannabis on your own premises, subject to any rules imposed by your landlord.

Marijuana consumption is prohibited in public places or within 1,000 feet of a school, day care center, or youth center when children are present.

If you’re driving, marijuana must be stored and locked out of sight in closed compartments or luggage areas. If you have a valid doctor’s prescription for medical weed however, patients may consume their medicine wherever they please so long as it’s not smoked in public.
